In his own words:

Being reared on a farm about twenty miles from Topeka, KS, instilled in me a deep love of the outdoors and Mother Nature. I attended a grade school that no longer exists and graduated from a high school that no longer exists. Fortunately, Washburn University's Economic Department survived my graduation.

After spending thirty-five years in the corporate world in mid and upper management, I "retired" to my thirty-five year passion for photography. Along the way, I received some very nice recognitions. In 1997 Kodak honored me with a very prestigious award in an international contest. While the monetary award was much appreciated, it was great satisfaction seeing my photography hanging in the National Geographic "Hall of Fame" with some of the most outstanding photography in the world.

Technical information. For the past several years, my photographs have been captured by a couple of different Canon digital cameras with a variety of Canon "L" (professional) lenses - from a 20 mm up to 300 mm. In each case, the camera and lens were securely attached to a Bogen tripod with a pan/tilt head and normally with a short remote cord for the shutter release to help reduce the possibility of "camera shake" - important when it's 10 degrees below zero and your body could be used as a tuning fork!
